Hello lovely readers! This was supposed to be posted on Monday, but I guess something happened, so here it is today! Anyway, did you know that we are LESS than 9 months away from Christmas???

But first we have to get through spring, which has officially started here in the South... so actually, it's summer. We've already had 90 degree days, and yes, I've already gotten my first sunburn. But it's also the season for DANCING WITH THE STARS!!!

Even though Derek Hough is gone (*tears*), the latest cast has already proven to be fun and exciting. With stars such as Mr. T, Simone Biles, and Bonner Bolton, this season is sure to be great. The first episode premiered last week, and it made me so happy.

Brochacho: its literly just people dancing

He just doesn't get the joys of reality TV.

Brochacho: except march madness yea

Yeah, yeah... I don't really keep up with March Madness, but Dog did make a bracket. It was busted as soon as Villanova lost, though.

It's okay, Dog. In fact, I have a pun to distract everyone who put their faith in Villanova (or Duke, for that matter...).

Brochacho: haha yea go heels

Crayola wanted to do something to honor Shaq, so they created a new color... it's called Shaquille O'Teal.

Have a great week!

Hello friends!

I apologize for having not posted in a while. Things have been very busy with school and softball (first game is tomorrow!), but I thought I might try and squeeze in a pun between studying and watching the Oscar dresses.

You: It's about time

Speaking of dresses, who is excited for the Beauty and the Beast movie??? I know Momma and I are!

Brochacho: meh

Check out the trailer below. The cast includes Harry Potter's very own Emma Watson, Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens, Frozen's Josh Gad, and lots of other talented stars. (By the way, Harry Potter Weekend starts March 3rd on Freeform, if you're interested.)

So guess what comes on TONIGHT and TOMORROW NIGHT?

You: The Golden Girls?

Well... yes, but that's not what I meant. New episodes of The Voice premiere tonight and tomorrow at 8/7c on NBC! Judges Adam Levine (*swoon*), Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys, and Gwen Stefani return for season 12 along with dozens of new contestants. Can't wait to watch!

ALSO coming up in the world of television is Dancing With the Stars! Unfortunately Derek Hough will not be returning as a pro dancer, but I've just seen a few confirmed celebrities and I can't wait for this season. New competitors include former wrestler, Mr. T and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles! Be sure to tune in March 20th at 8/7c. (Mind you, this is the same time as The Voice, so you'll have to make some major life decisions on Monday nights.)

In the spirit of Beauty and the Beast (eeeep!), I have a pun that both Disney lovers and Brochacho can appreciate.

Brochacho: im the real beast

For Beast's birthday, I got him a gift card to Taco Belle.

Have a fantastic week!

Bonjour, loyal readers! (Pardon my French, haha).

Let's start off with this picture from the recent news:

Over the past week, Buckingham Palace has raised American flags alongside its usual Union Jacks. Reportedly, this is to symbolize restored political alliance between the two countries; however, I'm here to tell you that the real reason the flags are up is for me and Prince Harry. They're obviously there to celebrate our relationship.

Anyway, this coming week is full of exciting events. including BROCHACHO'S BIRTHDAY!!!

This year is an especially important birthday, so we're trying to make it pretty special. To keep this theme, Brochacho has chosen the local Hibachi Buffet and Grill for dinner.

Brochacho: yea lots of food at buffets

Either way, we are all so thankful for Brochacho and what he means to us. I am blessed to call him my big brother, and I couldn't have asked for a better one!

Also coming up is SUPER BOWL LI! As I'm sure you know, the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots will be going head-to-head in Houston this Sunday. We will be cheering for the Southern team (the Falcons), but more than that, I am excited for the commercials!

Super Bowl commercials are always the best. Be on the lookout for the annual Doritos spot!

Moving on, in honor of Brochacho's...

Brochacho: *ahem*

*sigh* ...his excellency Brochacho I's birthday, I have an extra-special celebration pun!

Birthday cake is great, but don't eat too much, or you'll start to feel crumby.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROCHACHO!!! I hope today is the best one yet!

Happy Monday!

Okay, so maybe we could all use another day off. But January is drawing to a close, which is good because it always seems to last forever...

So this weekend I got to take the SAT for the first time. If you're not sure what that is, imagine 1) waking up at the crack of dawn while EVERYONE ELSE sleeps in, 2) sitting in a crowded room that smells like a fish tank, and 3) taking a test full of shapes and theorems and random passages about Venus Flytraps.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, though (at least, I don't think it was... we'll find out in February). And it was all good afterwards; I went home and took a nap.

In other news, President Trump was inaugurated on Friday! He and the First Lady spent their day attending ceremonies, making speeches, and attending balls. They are now in the White House in Washington, DC, where they will serve for 4 years. Here are a few pictures from the big day:

We pray that the Lord will provide our new president with wisdom and peace as he leads our country.

Last night we discovered which teams will be playing in Super Bowl LI: congratulations to the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots!

Brochacho: yea rise up

Brochacho is really pulling for the Falcons. I guess I will too, since they're the southern team (no offense, Yankees). Therefore, our pun today will be about football!

I heard football coaches show favoritism toward the punters; they always put their best foot forward.

Enjoy your week! Be strong; February is almost here!

Notice My New Name?

So... Did y'all notice my new name?

I know some of you might be confused, but for (possibly) obvious reasons, I needed to change the name of your favorite blog. It shall henceforth be known as The Mysterious Musings of a Southern Girl. Nothing else will change.  I'll still serve up MONDAY PUN-DAYS, complain about homework and softball, and fill your life with exciting stories about Momma, Deddy, Brochacho, and Dog.

Thank you for being faithful readers, and don't forget to comment or share the new name!
Your Royal Paleness

***P.S.~ Prince Harry has been notified of the change. Like everything else, he supports me whole-heartedly.

Hello fantastic readers! Happy 2017!!!

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. Unfortunately, many legends and notable friends passed away in 2016, including those from the music, TV, and sports worlds. Their impacts on both American and world cultures will never be forgotten. Read on as we remember a few of these prominent individuals.
  • Carrie Fisher (1956 - 2016). Beginning in 1977, Princess Leia (played by Fisher) took the sci-fi world by storm in George Lucas' Star Wars franchise. Lately, she made appearances in the newest spin-offs, including the most recent prequel Star Wars: Rogue One. Later in life, Fisher became a strong advocate for mental health in the United States. She is survived by her dog, Gary.

  • Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016). Reynolds, passing just days after the unfortunate death of her daughter (Carrie Fisher), left multiple generations heartbroken. Starring in Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain at just 19 years old, Reynolds was launched into the stardom of 1950s and '60s Hollywood. She later captured the hearts of children, young and old, in Disney's hit movie Halloweentown in 1998.

  • George Michael (1963-2016). Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou was born in London to a Greek restaurant owner and an English dancer. Rising to fame in the eccentric pop duo Wham! in the early 80s (and later pursuing a strong solo career), Michael went on to sell more than 100 million records around the world, with hits such as "Faith" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" instantly defining an insuppressible generation. After his sudden passing on Christmas day, it was revealed that Michael had been secretly donating millions of dollars to numerous charities and individuals. He is survived by his father and 2 sisters.

  • Arnold Palmer (1929-2016). Fondly nicknamed "The King" by his devoted fans, Palmer won 62 PGA titles over his extensive career and clenched 4 Masters wins. Today he is widely regarded as one of the best players in golf history and remains an original inductee of the World Golf Hall of Fame. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush in 2004, followed by the Congressional Gold Medal in 2009. Palmer passed away in late September while awaiting heart surgery.

  • Alan Rickman (1946-2016). Born in West London, Rickman is credited with nearly 70 roles in various films and was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 1997. Possibly best known for his role as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series, he captured our fascinations as both a villain and a hero. After a stroke in 2015, Rickman was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Unaware of its severity, he passed away peacefully less than 6 months later.

  • Nancy Reagan (1921-2016). Wife and best friend to former president Ronald Reagan, Nancy served as the First Lady from 1981 to 1989. By championing her "Just Say No" campaign, she succeeded in raising awareness about recreational drugs in America's youth. Nancy remained active in politics well after her battle with breast cancer in 1987 and her husband's death in 2004. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002, accepting the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of herself and her husband in the same year. She is survived by her 2 children, Ron and Patti Reagan.

While these are only a handful of those who passed away in 2016, our hearts and prayers are with all of those who are suffering a loss. God offers an eternal hope and peace for those who trust in Him. With His free gift of salvation, the faithful will live forever in His presence.

So winter is here, which means softball season is just around the corner! Momma and Deddy got me a brand new Louisville Slugger Xeno for Christmas, which I can't wait to use in a game. Speaking of which, Christmas is unfortunately over. I'm trying to look forward to other things instead of being sad, like the Golden Globes this Sunday and Valentine's Day.

In other news, have y'all seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them??? We went and saw the movie, and I am currently reading the screenplay. Love, love love! My favorite creature so far is either the Niffler or Pickett the bowtruckle. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, but just know... it's fantastic.

In order to start off the new year right, let's have a pun, shall we? It will be Harry Potter-themed in order to promote both Fantastic Beasts and the last day of Harry Potter Weekend. (By the way, did you hear NBC obtained the rights to the HP movies???)

How do Death Eaters freshen their breath? With dementos.

Happy New Year everyone!
Your Royal Paleness
